Bio

Shawn Halloran is doing something that, on the surface, is pretty simple: playing great, live solo acoustic rock that damn near everyone can enjoy.   Give it just a little closer listen, though, and it’s a bit more.  Reinventing, interpreting and arranging songs that everyone knows, and perhaps some you don’t, with emotion and experience is what you may hear.  But music isn’t meant to be written about, so come listen!

Since 2012, Shawn has played clubs, bars and private events in Central New York, such as Kitty Hoynes, Limp Lizard, World of Beer and Beak & Skiff and others with regularity.  There’s also the occasional, yet anticipated appearances of O’Hara and Halloran, a duo formed with Mike O’Hara, lead vocalist of CNY’s longtime and widely followed Grateful Dead Tribute band Dark Hollow.  In recent years, Shawn has partnered up with local Celtic rock band Attractive Nuisance to perform on the Main Stage at Syracuse’s Irish Fest in Clinton Square and St. Pat’s Church Irish Fest on Legendary Tipp Hill.

In prior bands Shawn has had the fortune of playing famed clubs such as the Middle East and The Paradise in Boston, MA, the Lion’s Den in NYC, and the Living Room and Blackstone Club in Providence, R.I….and long ago wielding the ax many evenings at the Dunkin Donuts Center as guitar player in the band for the Providence College Friars.

Visit often to keep up to date on where Shawn will be performing next.  Send an email, send a letter.  And by all means, come say hello!
